Eurocurrencies
Deposits denominated in a currency other than that of the country or monetary zone where the bank holding the deposit is located.
(1) Most often, Eurodollars or Eurodollar deposits are U.S.-denominated deposits in banks located outside the United States.
(2) In current usage, the prefix "euro" does not necessarily refer to Europe.
(3) The terms xenocurrencies and xenodollars are also found, but are rarely used.
