Euroequities

Equity shares issued in a country other than that of the issuing company; equity shares issued simultaneously on the domestic markets of several countries, thus allowing local investors to invest directly in foreign equity shares.

(1) Since the issuing corporation is governed by the securities regulations of the host country, investors in that country obtain information in their own language and can more easily compare the issuing corporation to domestic corporations. Euroequities broaden corporations' share ownership and improve their ability to obtain financing. (2) In current usage, the prefix "euro" does not necessarily refer to Europe.
